"If the LORD delights in a person's way, He makes their steps firm; though they stumble, they will not fall, for the LORD upholds them with His hand." (Psalm 37:23,24)

TUESDAY October 6, 2026 “A Triple Miraculous Mystery?” (1 Cor. 15:51,52; 1 Thess. 4:13-18)

Good Tuesday morning my “Walking with Jesus” friends,

Do you like Mysteries? Do you like to follow the story carefully trying to decode the mystery or are you frustrated by things you cannot discern? Did you know there’s a Biblical author who frequently used the word ‘mystery’ as the Holy Spirit led him to write 13 books of the New Testament? Yes, that author is the apostle Paul and today we encounter one of those statements in 1 Corinthians 15:51. Paul writes: “Listen, I tell you a MYSTERY: We will not all sleep [in death] but we will all be changed…”.

Oh my, wait a minute…, what is Paul talking about here? We know death is inevitable for every living thing, so how is it possible Paul declares SOME PEOPLE will not die? WHAT is this great mystery which will happen to some people but not ALL people? WHEN and HOW will it happen? Will there be any warning? How do we avoid or participate in this mystery? Like any good mystery, this radical statement from Paul stirs up LOTS of questions and today let’s find God’s answers!

Please remember Paul used his entire 15th chapter, of this first letter to his Christian friends in the wild city of Corinth, to clarify the Gospel of Jesus Christ and specifically the significance of Jesus’ resurrection from His crucifixion death. In the past few days, as we’ve probed deeply into this chapter, we’ve seen several shocking truths…

First...By God’s design EVERY human being will experience BOTH Death and bodily Resurrection, even those who died in the womb before birth.

Second... There will be several future resurrections and in each resurrection a specific group of deceased humans will be resurrected by the same power of God with which He raised dead Jesus back to life.

Third… Regardless of how, when or where people have died through all time, their resurrection will be from that place, receiving a new, immortal, glorified body, similar to Jesus’ resurrected body.

Fourth... Every human being will spend all eternity FUTURE in their resurrected glorified body, either with resurrected Jesus in heaven or apart from God in a place prepared for Satan, his demons and all people who have refused God’s offer of salvation. This earthly life is but a speck of time compared to all eternity future!

But now today, what about this MYSTERY Paul has declared? Paul is speaking about a triple miraculous event which has been foretold since the day Jesus ascended back to heaven. Do you know what I mean?

As the resurrected body of Jesus was disappearing UP into the clouds, two angels appeared and said to those people watching: “Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking up into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11) That event is the next future Return, Resurrection and Rapture by Jesus Christ which we are awaiting. We’ve discussed it already, and Paul explains it with some detail in 1 Thess. 4:13-18. Yet, there are three specific, almost simultaneous and very MYSTERIOUS aspects to this event. Do you know them?

First… Jesus will RETURN to earth in the same way those gathered on the Mount of Olives watched Him ascend from earth to heaven. Jesus’ return will be in His resurrection body, visible to any and all who will look up to see Him come!

Second… Jesus will cause a global, instantaneous RESURRECTION to take place of ALL deceased Christians. They are all those who had trusted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection, to save them, BEFORE they died.

Third… Jesus will cause a global TRANSFORMATION of all Christians ALIVE at that moment. Paul explained it with these words here in 1 Corinthians 15:51,52: “I tell you a mystery” We will not all sleep [in death] but we will all be changed – in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”

In 1 Thess. 4:15-17 Paul explained the mystery further: “According to the Lord’s own word we who are STILL ALIVE who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly NOT precede those who have fallen asleep [died]. For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that WE WHO ARE STILL ALIVE and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever…”

Yes, a TRIPLE, Mysterious, Miraculous, moment: Jesus’ return to earth from heaven / Jesus raising from the dead ALL deceased Christians and giving them their glorified bodies / and finally Jesus transforming the bodies of ALL LIVING Christians, giving them their immortal, glorified bodies, identical to the resurrected bodies of deceased Christians! Then, ALL those glorified, immortal bodies will be gathered together to be WITH Jesus in the air and forever more with Him.

Oh my, it really is THREE Mysterious miracles happening within seconds or moments of each other. If it happened today, can you imagine people all around the world grabbing their cell phones and immediately recording this mysterious miracle they are witnessing? Oh my, we need to pause right here. Are you ready, right now, for this triple, mysterious, miraculous event and if it does what will happen to YOU in that moment? What about every member of your family and your close friends? Will those untouched by this triple miracle, those left behind, understand what just happened?

The important study notes we’ve prepared, at the link below, are ready to further help you understand, prepare for it and explain this mystery to others! The worship song I’ve found is wonderful and yes, we’ll be here waiting for you tomorrow.
