📘 LESSONS LEARNED


The cross of Jesus Christ may appear foolish to a world that rejects God, but it is the supreme demonstration of God’s love and the means through which God’s power rescues repentant sinners from condemnation and gives them eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.

💥 SINS / FAILURES

  1. Dismissing the message of the cross as foolish, unnecessary, or irrelevant rather than recognizing God’s provision for salvation (1 Corinthians 1:18; Romans 1:16).
  2. Loving sinful behavior so much that we resist God’s truth and refuse His invitation to repentance (John 3:19–20; Romans 2:4–5).
  3. Trusting our own wisdom, morality, religion, accomplishments, or good works instead of trusting Jesus Christ alone for salvation (Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5; Acts 4:12).

🏆 SUCCESSES / SPIRITUAL GROWTH

  1. Trusting completely in Jesus Christ and His atoning death rather than attempting to save ourselves (John 3:16; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9–10).
  2. Viewing the cross as the greatest demonstration of God’s love toward sinful humanity (Romans 5:8; 1 John 4:9–10).
  3. Living confidently because salvation depends upon God’s power rather than our ability to earn or maintain His acceptance (1 Corinthians 1:18; Romans 1:16; 1 Peter 1:5).

🧭 LEADERSHIP DYNAMICS

  1. Christian leaders must keep the cross and the gospel of Jesus Christ at the center of their teaching rather than allowing secondary issues to replace the message of salvation (1 Corinthians 1:17–18; 1 Corinthians 2:1–5).
  2. Effective spiritual leaders clearly explain both God’s gracious offer of salvation and the eternal consequences of rejecting Christ (John 3:16–18; Acts 20:26–27).
  3. Leaders should help believers understand that salvation is God’s work, producing humility rather than spiritual pride (Ephesians 2:8–9; 1 Corinthians 1:29–31).

🌍 EKKLESIA (THE CHURCH) PERSPECTIVE

  1. The Ekklesia exists because Jesus purchased people for God through His sacrificial death and formed them into His redeemed people (Acts 20:28; Revelation 5:9–10).
  2. The Church must faithfully proclaim the message of the cross even when surrounding cultures ridicule or reject it (1 Corinthians 1:18–24; 2 Timothy 1:8).
  3. Every local church should help people understand the difference between those who are perishing and those who are being saved (1 Corinthians 1:18; 2 Corinthians 2:15–16).
