LESSONS LEARNED
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 — Does Jesus submit to God? (1 Corinthians 11:3). Jesus’ relationship with the Father invites us to consider His deity, willing obedience, saving work, and the security of those who follow Him.
WATCH OUTS
- Do not mistake Jesus’ obedience for a denial of His deity; read His submission alongside His unity with the Father (1 Corinthians 11:3; John 10:30; Philippians 2:6-8).
- Do not reduce Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to interchangeable names; Scripture distinguishes them while confessing one God (Matthew 28:19; John 14:16-17; Deuteronomy 6:4).
- Do not treat obedience as necessary only when it feels easy; Jesus remained faithful through suffering (Hebrews 5:7-9; Philippians 2:8).
SUCCESSES / SPIRITUAL GROWTH
- Receive forgiveness as God’s gift through Jesus’ redeeming sacrifice, and thank the Father who sent Him (John 3:16-17; Ephesians 1:7).
- Ask the Holy Spirit for the new life Jesus describes; spiritual renewal reaches deeper than improved outward behavior (John 3:3-8; Titus 3:5).
- Bring your words and decisions under God’s direction, following Jesus’ example of pleasing the Father (John 8:28-29; Colossians 3:17).
LEADERSHIP DYNAMICS
- Leaders remain accountable to Christ; spiritual responsibility is stewardship under His authority (1 Corinthians 11:3; Hebrews 13:17).
- Follow the Good Shepherd’s self-giving care rather than using people to protect your position (John 10:11-15; 1 Peter 5:2-3).
- Let obedience shape what you say as well as what you do; faithful teaching must remain anchored in God’s truth (John 8:28-29; Titus 1:9).
EKKLESIA PERSPECTIVE
- The Church worships the one God revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and teaches this confession with care (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 6:4).
- The Church’s welcome grows from reconciliation accomplished through Christ, not from a claim that human fellowship can replace reconciliation to God (2 Corinthians 5:18-21; Ephesians 2:18-19).
- The Church belongs to Jesus and should help people hear His voice, follow Him, and rest in His keeping (John 10:27-30; Colossians 1:18).
