📘 LESSONS LEARNED
The Gospel of Jesus Christ must never be distorted, supplemented, or replaced by human religious requirements, and every believer must become grounded enough in God’s Word to recognize truth from error.
💥 SINS / FAILURES
- Adding human religious requirements to the finished saving work of Jesus Christ (Acts 15:1; Galatians 1:6–9)
- Allowing confusion to spread in the church by failing to test teaching against Scripture (Acts 17:11; 1 John 4:1)
- Owning Bibles but neglecting the serious study and understanding of God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15; Hosea 4:6)
- Letting culture, opinion, internet voices, or tradition shape our thinking more than biblical truth (Romans 12:2; Colossians 2:8)
- Failing to prepare children and grandchildren to discern truth from spiritual deception (Deuteronomy 6:6–7; Psalm 78:4)
🏆 SUCCESSES / SPIRITUAL GROWTH
- Standing firmly on the truth that salvation is by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8–9; Acts 15:11)
- Recognizing and resisting distorted teaching before it damages the church (Acts 15:2; Jude 3)
- Growing in biblical discernment through regular immersion in God’s Word (Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 5:14)
- Helping others understand the difference between the true Gospel and religious distortion (2 Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:9)
- Taking responsibility to teach the next generation God’s truth with clarity and conviction (2 Timothy 1:5; Proverbs 22:6)
🧭 LEADERSHIP DYNAMICS
- Godly leaders confront false teaching directly when the Gospel is at stake (Acts 15:2; Galatians 2:5)
- Healthy spiritual leadership protects the church from confusion, division, and doctrinal drift (Acts 20:28–31; Titus 1:9)
- Wise leaders seek counsel from mature, trusted spiritual authority when foundational truth is being challenged (Acts 15:2–4; Proverbs 11:14)
- Faithful leaders report what God has done, keeping the focus on God’s work rather than personal achievement (Acts 15:4; 1 Corinthians 15:10)
- Spiritual leaders must help believers answer the essential question: “What must a person do to be saved?” (Acts 16:30–31; Romans 10:9–13)
🌍 EKKLESIA (THE CHURCH) PERSPECTIVE
- The Church must guard the purity of the Gospel because confusion about salvation fractures the foundation of Christian faith (Acts 15:1–2; 1 Corinthians 3:11)
- A growing church can still be vulnerable to false teaching if believers are not grounded in Scripture (Acts 15:1; Ephesians 4:14)
- The local church is responsible to train believers who can discern truth, reject error, and strengthen others (Ephesians 4:11–16; Colossians 1:28)
- Doctrinal clarity is not optional; it is essential for the health, unity, and mission of the Church (Acts 15:6; Philippians 1:27)
- The decisions of faithful believers in one generation can protect and strengthen the Church for generations to come (Acts 15:22–31; 2 Timothy 2:2)
