💥 SINS / FAILURES

  1. 1️⃣ Spiritual dullness can exist in the middle of religious activity when people celebrate a feast yet fail to recognize what God is doing right in front of them. (Acts 2:1-4; John 1:10-11; Luke 19:41-44)
  2. 2️⃣ Fear can shrink obedience when disciples think more about possible persecution than about Christ’s promise and calling. (Acts 1:8; John 20:19; Matthew 26:56)
  3. 3️⃣ Human limitation shows itself when believers stare at the size of the mission and conclude that Samaria and the ends of the earth are impossible. (Acts 1:8; Numbers 13:31-33; Zechariah 4:6)
  4. 4️⃣ Waiting can become restless confusion when people fill the gap with unanswered questions instead of settled trust in the word of Christ. (Acts 1:4-5; Psalm 27:14; Isaiah 40:31)
  5. 5️⃣ It is possible to know the history of God’s mighty acts and still not immediately grasp what He is doing in the present moment. (Acts 2:12-13; Luke 24:25-27; John 14:26)

🏆 SUCCESSES / SPIRITUAL GROWTH

  1. 1️⃣ The disciples obeyed Jesus exactly by remaining in Jerusalem and waiting for the Father’s promised gift. (Acts 1:4; Acts 1:12-14; John 14:16-17)
  2. 2️⃣ They stayed together in unity, prayer, and shared expectation instead of scattering under uncertainty. (Acts 1:14; Psalm 133:1; Matthew 18:19-20)
  3. 3️⃣ They took Jesus’ final words seriously and kept reflecting on what life and mission would mean after His departure. (Acts 1:8-9; John 16:7; Luke 24:49)
  4. 4️⃣ They understood enough of Israel’s Scriptures and history to recognize that wind and fire were not random events but signs of divine action. (Acts 2:2-3; Exodus 14:21-22; 1 Kings 18:36-39)
  5. 5️⃣ They became the specific people God cleansed, anointed, and empowered for witness, showing that surrendered waiting prepared them for Spirit-filled service. (Acts 2:3-4; Matthew 3:11; 2 Chronicles 7:1-3)

🧭 LEADERSHIP DYNAMICS

  1. 1️⃣ Jesus led His followers by giving clear instructions before departure, showing that strong leadership prepares people for the next season before the leader is gone. (Acts 1:4-8; Matthew 28:18-20; John 15:15-16)
  2. 2️⃣ God’s timing was exact, proving that kingdom leadership works by divine schedule, not human urgency. (Acts 2:1; Ecclesiastes 3:1; Galatians 4:4)
  3. 3️⃣ The waiting room in Jerusalem became a formation space where uncertainty deepened dependence rather than weakening commitment. (Acts 1:14; Psalm 25:4-5; Isaiah 30:21)
  4. 4️⃣ God marked the arrival of His Spirit with unmistakable signs, showing that He knows how to get the attention of those He is commissioning. (Acts 2:2-4; Exodus 19:16-19; Ezekiel 37:9-10)
  5. 5️⃣ The fire resting on each believer showed that Spirit-empowered mission is personal as well as corporate; every servant has a role in the witness of Christ. (Acts 2:3-4; Joel 2:28-29; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
