“Jesus Confronts Anxiety” (John 14:1-17)

💥 SINS / FAILURES

1️⃣ Troubled hearts often expose how quickly fear takes control when circumstances seem unstable instead of resting in the character and promises of God. (John 14:1; Psalm 56:3-4; Isaiah 26:3)
2️⃣ Even long-time followers can be shaken when betrayal, uncertainty, or personal failure suddenly becomes real and humbling. (John 13:21-30; John 13:36-38; 1 Corinthians 10:12)
3️⃣ Human thinking resists Jesus’ exclusive claim because we prefer many options rather than surrendering to Him as the only way to the Father. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Proverbs 14:12)
4️⃣ It is possible to spend much time around Jesus yet still know Him shallowly, like Philip’s question revealed. (John 14:8-9; Hebrews 5:12; Hosea 6:3)
5️⃣ Believers often live below what Jesus promised because anxiety, unbelief, and self-reliance choke obedience and spiritual fruitfulness. (John 14:12-17; James 1:6-8; Galatians 5:16-17)

1️⃣ Jesus gives a direct antidote to anxiety by calling His followers to trust both God and Himself with equal confidence. (John 14:1; Psalm 62:8; Philippians 4:6-7)
2️⃣ The promise of the Father’s house and Christ’s return gives believers eternal perspective that confronts present fear. (John 14:2-3; Colossians 3:1-4; 1 Peter 1:3-5)
3️⃣ Thomas and Philip show that honest questions, when brought to Jesus, can become doorways to deeper revelation rather than barriers to faith. (John 14:5; John 14:8-9; James 1:5)
4️⃣ Jesus reveals that to truly know Him is to know the Father, because He perfectly displays God’s nature and glory. (John 14:7-9; Hebrews 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15)
5️⃣ Jesus promises that the Holy Spirit will dwell in believers forever, empowering obedience, prayer, discernment, and fruitful living. (John 14:13-17; Romans 8:9-11; Galatians 5:22-25)

1️⃣ Great leadership does not deny the presence of anxiety but confronts it with truth, clarity, and God-centered perspective. (John 14:1-3; Joshua 1:9; 2 Timothy 1:7)
2️⃣ Jesus leads troubled men by giving them theology before strategy—He anchors them in who He is before telling them what to do. (John 14:6-11; Matthew 16:15-17; Isaiah 55:8-9)
3️⃣ Effective spiritual leaders make room for sincere questions and use them to deepen understanding instead of shaming confusion. (John 14:5; John 14:8-9; Proverbs 20:5)
4️⃣ Jesus prepares His followers for future mission by assuring them of divine partnership, not independent performance. (John 14:12-14; 2 Corinthians 3:5-6; Ephesians 3:20)
5️⃣ Lasting spiritual leadership depends on the ongoing presence and empowerment of the Holy Spirit, not personality, pressure, or human strength. (John 14:16-17; Zechariah 4:6; Acts 1:8)
