My dear “Walking with Jesus” friends…A SPECIAL HALLOWEEN MESSAGE from Pastor Doug;
Tomorrow is “Halloween” and all across America, a profound spiritual battle will be raging, that you may be unaware of, and you might actually be participating in, even though innocently!
Having grown up in Voodoo immersed Haiti, and served there as a missionary in the 80’s, I am particularly sensitive to this unusual day of darkness in America. What especially concerns me is the exposure of children to the vicious evil kingdom of Satan with Halloween.
Listen to this warning from God, for His people before they entered the Promised Land: “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his child in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist, or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD…” (Deut. 18:10-12)
Halloween is a spiritually dangerous evening, especially for children, who innocently often dress up in cute costumes and go around their neighborhood saying “trick or treat”, and are given candy and other treats by adults who find it ‘cute’.
Please peel back the cuteness and look more deeply.
Too many front lawns have tombstones, or skeletons, or things hanging in trees symbolizing ghosts. What is that friends? That’s making a joke of death, and in some cases it’s raising a fascination, with attempts to contact the dead, or spirit world through mediums. Look again at Deut. 18.
Too many costumes are of the devil, or demons, or witches or other things of witchcraft or the occult. Our society has a great media fascination with the dark spirit world, as evidenced by movies and TV shows, especially this time of year. When anyone watches those productions, please understand they open their minds, hearts and souls to influence and possible invasion by the dark, evil, demonic world. It is far more than simply ‘entertainment’ my friends!
“Dungeons and Dragons” and Ouija boards and similar ‘games’, have been drawing children and teens into exposure to or experimentation with, the dark spirit world. In so doing they invite the influence of the demonic into their lives, often without understanding what are doing!
Friends, there is a great spiritual battle raging for the minds, hearts and souls, of every person, especially the children of America, and that battle reaches a pinnacle on Halloween.
In recent days I’ve been providing powerful Biblical teaching about Spiritual Warfare in our daily “Walking with Jesus”, as we study together Ephesians 6:10-18. If you’ve missed it, may I urge you to go to the archives tab and review these studies. There is very important Spiritual truth for you and your family.
Please be very careful my friends, what you do with Halloween.
Satan and his dark kingdom are ferocious.
Their desire is to use this Halloween to gain spiritual, dark footholds, in the lives of all of us (Ephes. 4:27,30). Please protect yourselves by NOT opening your home or your life or family to the schemes of the dark kingdom tomorrow!
“Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood…but against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil…” (Eph. 6:11,12).
“The devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour…” (1 Peter 5:80
Oh I urge you to be careful with Halloween, and I invite you to join me and dig into the Spiritual Warfare studies I’ve provided for you, in our “Walking with Jesus” over this past week, beginning Monday Oct. 28th. I’m praying for you all my friends. Stand firm in this battle, don’t be deluded into believing it’s just a game. To Jesus, Satan and his demons, this is not a game… it’s spiritual warfare!
