LESSONS LEARNED

Friday September 25, 2026 — Faith, Hope & Love (1 Corinthians 13:8–13). What remains trustworthy when everything around us changes? Paul directs us toward God’s unchanging character, our future hope in Christ, and the love demonstrated at the cross.

WATCH OUTS

  1. Do not make changing circumstances the measure of God’s faithfulness or love; His character remains trustworthy even amid suffering (Hebrews 13:8; Romans 8:35–39).
  2. Do not mistake partial knowledge or impressive gifts for spiritual maturity; receive God’s truth humbly and make love your priority (1 Corinthians 13:1–3, 9–12; 1 Peter 4:10).
  3. Do not let Bible study end with information while your treatment of people remains unchanged; put patient, practical love into action (1 Corinthians 13:4–7; James 1:22).

SUCCESSES / SPIRITUAL GROWTH

  1. Grow in humble faith: God’s character does not change, and although you understand only in part, you are fully known by Him (Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8; 1 Corinthians 13:12).
  2. Nourish hope in Christ’s victory and the promised transformation of His people, looking beyond present troubles toward God’s renewed creation (Philippians 3:20–21; Revelation 21:1–4).
  3. Return to the cross when doubt rises, and ask the Spirit to make the love you have received visible in patient care for others (Romans 5:5, 8; Galatians 5:22–23).

LEADERSHIP DYNAMICS

  1. Help anxious people find confidence in the unchanging Christ without promising an easy life; His care remains secure amid suffering (Hebrews 13:8; John 16:33; Romans 8:35–39).
  2. Teach Scripture clearly and humbly, acknowledging the limits of present knowledge while directing people toward Christ rather than dependence on a leader’s personality or gifts (1 Corinthians 13:9–12; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 1 Corinthians 3:5–7).
  3. Model sacrificial love through concrete service, helping people recognize Jesus’ character in how you lead and care for them (John 13:34–35; 1 John 3:16–18).

EKKLESIA PERSPECTIVE

  1. Build the church’s shared life around faith, hope and love, using spiritual gifts for the common good and learning patiently together (1 Corinthians 13:13; 1 Corinthians 12:7; Ephesians 4:15–16).
  2. Encourage one another with the promised resurrection and renewed creation, helping those facing discouragement hold firmly to their hope in Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:16–18; Revelation 21:1–4).
  3. Let shared Scripture reading lead into worship and practical service that expresses the love demonstrated at the cross (Colossians 3:16–17; James 1:22; 1 John 3:16–18).
