LESSONS LEARNED

Monday, September 21, 2026 — God’s Team (1 Corinthians 12:27–30). Jesus brings different people together as His body. What happens when each member serves under His leadership, and what part has He entrusted to you?

WATCH OUTS

  1. Do not mistake attendance for active participation; each member belongs and has a contribution to make (1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 4:16).
  2. Do not demand that every believer have your gift; the Spirit distributes gifts and Paul expects different roles (1 Corinthians 12:11,29-30; Romans 12:4-6).
  3. Do not elevate a gifted personality above Jesus, the Church’s head and foundation (Colossians 1:18; 1 Corinthians 3:5-11).

SUCCESSES / SPIRITUAL GROWTH

  1. Receive your place in Christ’s body with gratitude rather than comparison (1 Corinthians 12:18,27; Romans 12:3-6).
  2. Develop the gift entrusted to you by using it to serve others faithfully (1 Peter 4:10-11; Romans 12:6-8).
  3. Let your relationship with Jesus shape patience, humility and unity with other believers (Ephesians 4:1-6; Colossians 3:12-15).

LEADERSHIP DYNAMICS

  1. Equip the whole body for ministry instead of making every task depend on one leader (Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Corinthians 12:21).
  2. Honor helping and guidance alongside more visible gifts; God places these services in His church (1 Corinthians 12:28; Romans 12:7-8).
  3. Keep Jesus’ authority central, serving His people without dominating them (Colossians 1:18; 1 Peter 5:2-4).

EKKLESIA PERSPECTIVE

  1. The church is Christ’s people, joined as one body rather than defined by a building (1 Corinthians 12:27; 1 Peter 2:5).
  2. Shared belonging does not erase different functions; unity makes those differences fruitful (Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:29-30).
  3. A healthy church shares care, honor, suffering and joy across its membership (1 Corinthians 12:25-26; Romans 12:15).
